Use the TARE function by pressing the power button once to reset the scale to Zero after placing the bowl on the top, subtracting its' weight. You can also select which measuring unit you want to use by pressing the M button to scroll through the options. The LCD screen is backlit with a pink glow for easy measurement readings, even in low-light, and the device will automatically power-off after 3 minutes of inactivity to save battery power.
